Some Typography Grids.....

I decided to use and edit this particular picture as I thought it was quite a good picture with interesting text design and font and was I was also very fond of the angle I captured this picture from. Here i simply used "Paint" to insert a few grid lines for experimentation with my own free hand rather than using photoshop at this point. However i feel that i could have used a more thicker and perhaps colourful line here as it would have made the text stand out better and would have complimented it more as well i feel. However I have managed to change the line attributes in the pictures below as you can see. Overall I quite like this picture and feel that through simply adding a few grid-like lines you can make a picture much more appealing and in certain cases more informative and useful.

Opposite is my second attempt at adding grid like lines to a particular picture. Once again i have simply used "Paint" here to experiment with different lines and grids and subsequently added them to this picture to make the text more outstanding and appealing to the viewer. This time i have added red lines as they stand out much better and seem to add to the overall visual impact of this picture. This could be easily edited further and subsequently used for perhaps the cover of a magazine of some sort coincided with another relative picture or piece of text. In conclusion I am very pleased with the overall look and appearance of this picture and feel that it could be easily ammended further to suit a magazine cover in this case a photographic magazine of some sort.

Here is my final experiment with this particular picture on "Paint". This time I have made use of copy and paste and placed the original piece of text from the centre of the picture all around the picture in various different positons, sizes and angles to add to the typographic effect. However I decided to keep the original piece of text embedded in the middle of the picture where it was from the beginning. I am quite pleased with the final outcome of this picture and feel that it is quite unusual and unique. I feel that this is quite an attractive picture and believe that it would keep the viewers attention quite well due to its somewhat strange and eccentric design. I hope to experiment much more with this type of layout and type of design. Consequently I hope to be able to utilize photoshop in order to produce more abstract pieces of work in due course.

Pictures for Typography..

This was one of the photos i took from last week, I particularly liked this photo as i thought it was quite striking, straightforward and self-explanatory. I also admire the style of font used in this piece as i feel it helps make this piece stand out and it seems to compliment the picture very well also. the blue background works well along with the white text and also serves to add to the overall professionalism of this piece of work.

Opposite is another picture which i captured last week. I liked this picture as it has quite a nice textured rough effect to it along with the fact that it is simple and straight to the point. The text has been accompanied by a picture of a motor car in order to emphasise it further. I think the red font works well against the white background along with the slight slant on the text which almost suggests speed and movement to the viewer. Overall I really like this piece of work as it is simple yet very effective.

Opposite is my third and final favourite photo I managed to capture during our "TypeWalk" last week. I feel this is my favourite as it is very informative and delivers a message to the viewer immediately through the text and style of font used. The word "wringers" gives the viewer an immediate image of something being spun or twisted and this is conveyed additonally through a small picture at the side of a piece of clothing being twisted dry. The word twust has also been manipulated in a twist like fashion to emphasise the word even further. However despite these various positives i feel thatperhaps a different colour scheme could have been emplyed in order to make the lettering stand out more to the viewers eye. However, apart from this minor set back i feel this is a really interesting piece of typography and that it serves it duty quite well.
